The Technical University of Kenya is dedicated to fostering innovation, critical thinking, and technical skills among its students. With a focus on quality education, TUK prepares graduates to contribute effectively to the workforce and society at large.
Technical University of Kenya traces its origins back to the 1920s, during a time when indigenous leaders in East Africa were advocating for greater access to higher education. This led to the establishment of several notable institutions, including Makerere University College and the Royal Technical College of East Africa (RTCEA) in Nairobi, approved in 1952. RTCEA began admitting students in 1956, offering programs in Architecture, Arts, Domestic Science, Engineering, and Science.
In its current form, TUK continues to uphold the legacy of excellence in technical and vocational education, providing a diverse range of programs designed to meet the evolving needs of society.
